Projects
(RASP)
LWSL is involved in electromagnetic research. Our main project, termed RASP or Radio Atmospheric Studies Program, monitors low level storm scale rotation and is being investigated as an advanced prediction method along with a method to confirm if a tornado is indeed on the ground remotely. In the past our team has used a vehicle mounted detection system, but for the coming season we will be using a new probe which is deployed from the vehicle to insure that it is perfectly stationary. The revolutionary technology recently won 'The Most Cutting Edge' at the 2008 National Weather Festival in Norman, Oklahoma.
